weekend awesomeness
Finally! After five years, we got to watch some of the
featured films in this year’s International Silent Film Festival held at the
Shangril-la.
The first film we got to see was Spain’s ‘La Casa de la
Troya’ (The House of Troy); a 1925 silent film which was a rom-com. Hahaha. Background music was played LIVE nad featured
SinosiKat and Spain’s Ignacio Plaza.
oh, look -- it's us! =P (look closely,or click to enlarge photos, pal. hahaha)
The second film we did get to see was USA’s “Safety Last”
(1923) – a comedy which featured Radioactive Sago Project as musical
accompaniment (live again). AWESOMENESS!!!!!
=)
By the way, the movie was really funny and really cool for a
film in that era. The lead actor, Harold
Lloyd, was great, too. Now I’m aiming to
see more silent films, specially with Charlie Chaplin in it.
I remember while watching the film it kinda gives me the
creeps knowing that maybe almost all of the people I’m seeing in the film were
dead already. =P
I can’t describe how cool it is watching those “authentic”
silent movies and seeing pinoy bands play alongside.
I cannot wait until the next silent film fest. Thanks to Instituto Cervantes and the
organizers of the SFF for the photos. =)
