SQUARE ONE

Dear God,

I should be used to this already – starting myself from scratch – but still it pains me today trying to get back from losing and from the fall.  I know I’m strong and that I know better, but I don’t know what I have done wrong to deserve 3 heartbreaks in a row, in less than 6 months.

But You know, I have gone through a lot of losses before.  Our house got burned down before and it left us with nothing – we got through it.  I got through it.  Then typhoon Ondoy came and again, it left us with nothing.  I got through it all.  Well, maybe not yet with the trauma of almost dying but that’s another story.  I’m not comparing the loss of tangibles with a love lost / a lost love, I’m comparing the things I did to get through the loss itself.  Well, point is, I should know by now what losing feels like.  And I know that this is just a phase and that I will get through it… the only thing that bothered me was this:  I KNOW IN MY HEART I DID NOTHING WRONG TO REACH THIS STAGE; TO FALL THIS HARD; TO GET TO WHERE I AM NOW.  I didn’t do anything wrong.  Don’t I deserve to be told the reason why?  My pride and ego was bruised so bad, You know.

But maybe not knowing is better.  Maybe I don’t need to know the reason/s because bottomline is that I got hurt (the last one was the worst), and no amount of explanation could reverse it.  I’d understand them, yes, but the pain remains.

Hey.  I have been a good and polite girl, and even if love has got me beaten to a pulp my faith in You remains.  Nothing’s going to lose my spirit.  Men can’t break me, for I am already broken =P

You know what I’m about to ask of You now.  I just want the hurting to stop.  I can’t stay this way for a long time, my family and friends need me.  Please help me get my shit together.

---

And so, I’m back to square one.  Just like in good old times, no? hahaha.  God, if this is a trial to test my tolerance, this must be my final exams =)

*disclaimer: I had SEVEN blog entries about this topic and all of them I did trash because I don’t want this blog to be misery-infested; this particular entry got published only because it also speaks of hope.  Huh.  Seven different articles, one theme.  It must really be that painful.  Yikes

here's my theme song at the moment, let's enjoy listening instead =)

this movie was worth the 3 hour ticket queue.

Your Story
Fukuhara Miho

It's dark and cold, out where we stand alone
Beneath the ground, down deep the ocean
What have I done?
What have you done wrong?
Our deep embrace, will you remember?
The silence's gone.

There used to be an empty space
There was no fear there's nothing to chase
Until you came and opened the way
And fear that loneliness will tear my heart away

Come stay and hear the hearts of melody
The warmth of skin, the gentle kisses
Could this be love?

Sometimes I ask, why things have gone so wrong?
I've waited long, believed for so long
My angel face, has slept with tears in her eyes
“Don't leave me please”
Will I desert her how it was done?

She has no one, no place to go
She dreamed to have a place to belong
What we both long a place, sweet home
If I could un-wine the time and stay with you

Still dark and cold, out where we stand alone
Beneath the ground, down deep the ocean
We both have lied, and kissed, a sad good-bye
Your deepest love remains in my heart
how I love you so...

synopsis:

Yuichi (Satoshi Tsumabuki) is a construction worker who's lived his entire life in a dreary fishing village. With no girlfriend or friends, he spends his days working and looking after his grandparents, with no enjoyment in life other than his car. Meanwhile, Mitsuyo (Eri Fukatsu) also lives a monotonous life pacing between the men's clothing store where she works and the apartment where she lives with her sister.
When the two lonely souls meet using an online dating site, they immediately fall in love with each other. But there's a secret Yuichi had been keeping from Mitsuyo: he's the one who killed the woman whose murder had been in the news for days.
Though Yuichi tries to turn himself in, Mitsuyo stops him. Having discovered the joy of loving someone for the first time in their lives, the desperate lovers go on the run. They arrive at a lighthouse, where they find the time and place to share a blissful moment together. But their getaway begins to ensnare the lives of families of both the killer and the victim.
Why did Yuichi kill the woman? Why did Mitsuyo love a killer? What fate awaits the families who were torn apart?
As the desperate characters hit rock bottom and struggle between good and evil, a new question emerges:
Who is the true "villain" here?

On Creativity, Happiness and Moving Your Body in Natural Settings

How outdoor exercise frees the mind and lifts the mood

Made by Chloe Barron's Hand
Movement in natural settings enhances creative capacity and elevates mood.
What does exercise have to do with creativity and happiness ?  Where does nature fit in? Research suggests that exercise lifts mood. Harvard psychiatrist John Ratey says, “Working up a sweat could very well be one of the most potent, underused prescriptions we have.” Movement – at least three times per week for thirty minutes triggers mood-enhancing neurotransmitters. Studies have shown that it can compete with antidepressants. Other research has shown that nature  (as opposed to concrete) elicits imaginative, fulfilling play in children.  Combining nature and movement enhances your chances for creative thoughts and happy moments.

Whether you choose a dirt path or an elliptical with an outdoor view, movement bolsters creativity as well as contentment.  Gail McMeekin, author of The 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women found that one secret was exercise. Spontaneous, undirected thinking is creative and occurs more readily when you move. Separated from the to-dos on your desk, and striding through a natural setting allows meaningful subjects to arise in your mind.   Deeper feelings, novel ideas, sought after solutions or “aha” moments (a term psychologist Dr. Mark Jung Beeman uses for a flash of insight) can pop up on a walk.  Time to reflect as you amble can make a big difference in your wellbeing.   Many great writers walked their books. Thoreau spoke of people who  “understood the art of Walking –who had a genius for sauntering.”
The active body gives rise to an observant, receiving, creative mind.
Move through the woods, in an outdoor mall, up an avenue or around a botanical garden. Identify the pace and setting that stimulates your thoughts and alters your mood. Is there a place you like to exercise that distracts you, inspires you or makes you forget soul-sinking details?  Where good thoughts, motivating memories or happy feelings surface? Even if you cannot make it to your ideal place, see what your very own environment has to offer.  My neighbor Susannah finds that a saunter down her sloping hill and into her garden invigorates her senses, stirs her imagination and provides solace.  Don’t be afraid to silence your device and daydream as you stroll. The deeper you go inside your very own mind the more you can find.
Movement, especially out of doors, can lift your mood, bolster your creativity and even change your path.  It might make you think differently. It could motivate you to take small steps to change your habits or big steps to change your life. Walking is good medicine.
Thoreau also said that, “every walk is a sort of crusade.”

dear God,

"Please take me away from everything that's been making me crazy."

last Friday night

*disclaimer: written out of sheer honesty. heh. =P

---o0o---

..while walking around a mall, a stranger handed me out a sampler of the product he's selling.  I was gracious enough to accept it and as i was about to smile at the freebie, I saw his face and my smile went bigger as I had been talking to a very handsome Iranian dude.  he kept on testing the products on me and while demonstrating the product he was asking personal questions (where I live, what's my job, do I have a boyfriend, etc etc), and at the same time he's been telling his personal stuff as well (his name is *****, he's 32, he's been in Manila for 4 years now, also lives in Mandaluyong, a condo unit near our condo as well).  I said no, I'm not going to buy the product, I made it clear from the first time but he just kept on asking me things, making kulit on when am I going to go back there again.. and then gave me a huge discount on the product -- from 2,600 to 1,000 BUT I had to go with him to dinner.   He said it in a hush hush.  I asked him why he had to give that discount/offer and he answered, "because you're very cute" (yay! havey si kuya. cos I aim for cute.  not beautiful, not sexy, not hot -- I am not those things.  "cute" suits me best.  cute as a button. cute like a puppy.  ridiculously cute.  and "very very cute". hahaha).

tempting, but i nicely declined.  Did I feel offended because it sounded like an indecent proposal? NO.

first things first, he's a freaking salesman, it's his job to use his charm to sell.
it could have worked on me, if only I hadn't promised something to  someone..  it's hard to be a good girl, you know.

---o0o---

it was a fun night, though - at least some handsome stranger made me smile exactly at the time when I had the need to be happy again.

The Founder of ATD Fourth World

Joseph Wresinski was born to immigrant parents in 1917, in a detainment camp for nationalities considered suspicious during World War I. He grew up living in great poverty and social exclusion. He was ordained as a priest in 1946 and in 1956 he was assigned to be a chaplain to 250 families placed in an emergency housing camp in Noisy-le-Grand, near Paris, France. The families lived in quonset huts erected in a muddy field with just four public spigots providing water for all of them. Joseph Wresinski was opposed to the soup kitchen there, and closed it, stating that “it is not so much food or clothes that these people are in need of, but dignity, and to not have to depend on other people's goodwill”. With the parents, he created a kindergarten, a library, then a chapel, a laundry, a workshop, and a beauty parlour. He and the adults created an association that would become ATD Fourth World. The term “fourth world” echoes the “fourth order” of the French Revolution: those who were considered too poor and uneducated to vote towards a new Constitution. Joseph Wresinski used this term as one that evoked the aspirations of creating a new world order, and that held promise and hope for families living in extreme poverty. He wished «to get [people living in poverty] to appear in public, in the places where future is shaped. He stated that he would get people to climb the steps of the UN, the Elysée and the Vatican.

“Forgiveness is the most powerful thing that you can do for your physiology and your spirituality, and it remains one of the least attractive things to us, largely because our egos rule so unequivocally. To forgive is somehow associated with saying that it is all right, that we accept the evil deed. But this is not forgiveness. Forgiveness means that you fill yourself with love and you radiate that love outward and refuse to hang onto the venom or hatred that was engendered by the behaviors that caused the wounds.” (Wayne Dyer)

what happens in Boracay, stays in Boracay.

I remember hearing it for the first time. Jimmy Bondoc, the singer who wrote this song, played it twice. Wailed like a baby twice. Now, this is what i've been hearing all the time I was in Boracay.  For so many reasons.  Jimmy wrote the song while he was in Boracay. I must be thinking the time when Jimmy was there, writing his heart out, mending a broken heart.  I also remembered asking Jimmy for the lyrics of this song.  And now, I must unlearn. I know.  =)

lol pic of the week

look at the stars - look how they shine for you. =P

Scorpio Woman

The beauty of a Scorpio woman is exceptional, mysterious and totally magnetic. She knows that and is proud of herself. She will control her wish to dominate and will let a man lead in a relationship, atleast during courtship. She knows how to hypnotize a man and gets successful, more often than not. Don't expect a Scorpio female to rush into your arms in front of a thousand people and shout her feelings at the top of her voice. Instead, she will come close to you, glance at you in a sensual way and whisper the most romantic words in a seductive tone.

If you are not sincere with your feelings, don't even try to get close to a Scorpio girl. With those beautiful, penetrating eyes of hers, she can read exactly what is on your mind. She can easily make out your real intentions, so Don't Flirt. It will amount to insulting her and I assure you, insulting her is not at all good for your health. Even when her tone is soothing, her disposition kind and her smile generous, she can be planning the most powerful retaliation.

She is passionate with everything that is related to her. It is almost impossible for her to have neutral feelings. Either she will deeply cherish or fiercely hate. If any of the feelings are not experienced, she will become completely indifferent towards it. Scorpio women, however, never let these feelings show. Her expression will always remain neutral, betraying nothing. Her anger is very bad and it's better to get out of her way when it gets out of hand. Her characteristics profile will make her storehouse of secrets, but people wouldn't know any of hers.

Her personal life will be out of bounds for everyone. At the same time, she will never tell the secrets that have been confided in her, not even to you. Even with you, she will have a private part and its better not to pry. That does not mean she is dishonest. Infact, she will be so brutally honest that, at times, she may hurt people in the process. Like a typical Scorpio, she will choose her friends very carefully and the credible ones will remain with her throughout her life. She will never maintain a relationship with unworthy people.

Determination and will power are her basic personality traits. She can use them anytime to come out of anything that is negative. If you have been able to win the true love of a Scorpio female, you can be sure you will never feel lonely again. She will be totally devoted to you and even if you two don't get married for any reasons beyond your control, her love for you will not change. She is one of those who believe in the phrase 'Till Death Do Us Apart'. Rather than overshadowing her husband, she believes in supporting him.

'Behind every successful man, there is a woman'; this idiom is perfect in case of the husband who has a Scorpio wife. For her, the future, the happiness and the dreams of her husband hold the supreme importance. She will always defend him fiercely in public and won't take nicely to anyone taking advantage of him. She will always encourage him to reach for the stars, build his courage and never let him turn back from midway. Scorpio women love their homes and keep them spic and span.

A Scorpio female has a sense of fairness and justice. If you don't wish her good morning one day after a fight, she will do the same for the next four days. The same goes for generosity also. If you do one kind deed for her, she will do four in return. As a mother, she will extremely possessive of her children and will care for them. However, she may not express her love openly and this is something you will have to teach her. She will make them independent, fair, strong and proud of themselves, the way she is of them. She will encourage them to develop their innate talents and make sure they don't go unnoticed.

A Scorpio woman can drown you in her passion. But then, she can also bring you to safety when the raft becomes too dicey. She can provide you her calm and steady support in the worst of circumstances. Once you win her love, you will never be lonely again. Your food will be perfectly baked and she will grind fresh coffee for you. You will always come back to a spotless home, radiating with the aura of her magnetic personality, the charm of her deep beauty and the warmth of her everlasting love!

that different kind of happy

It had always been easy for me to stay happy.  I walk, go to places, meet people, read, sing - i just breathe and enjoy life.  Happiness for me had always been accessible.  It's anywhere and everywhere.

Then came you.  The stranger with this weird kind of humour.  You came right when I was happy on my own.  And I hate that I miss you.  And since you haven't been around, I go out and do my thing and be this happy girl that I used to be.

But these past few days, something felt different.. missing.

I do my usual stuff at work and I think of you.  When I laugh at my officemate’s jokes, I think of how you culd come out with those sarcastic comments about the conversation.  I smile at them because I thought of you.

I go to places and look for things / people to feed my curiosity and to inspire me – and though I get my highs off of it, I still think of you.  It’s crazy, but it’s true.

There’s this certain kind of happiness that comes with talking to you.

(*I’m sorry for being this expressive but I’m doing it for myself.  I have to let this out.)

Whatever happens in the near future, just know that I am really happy to have met you.  Take care, boss.

PS – I wrote this before I leave for Boracay, the place where people get all crazy wild and all out.  Unfortunately  I can’t go all out.  Because in your mind I’m a good girl, and I have to keep it that way ;)
