for the sake of art

Adolfo Alix Jr.'s "Porno" was screened at the Cinemalaya Film Festival last week at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.  This year, movie entires (for new breed and director's showcase) are also being screened at selected movie theatres/cinemas.

Having a very sensitive theme, Alix decided not to have a "mall screening" for his film for this one reason: he doesn't want to make another vresion that can suit the standards of a "commercial run".

*CCP (and Mogwai Cinemateque when it was still open) is the only theater that is exempted of MTRCB - meaning films being shown there doesn't have to go through the Movie Regulatory Board and get the chance of the film being axed / rated as X.

He only wanted viewers to see one version.  He would rather NOT get more profit so people can see exactly the version that he envisioned.

Adolf Alix - ikaw na! =)
